OVERVIEW
 
The Phillips London 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale is scheduled on March 8, 2018. This sale offers an exceptional selection of works by some of the most important and sought-after artists. The auction boasts a masterpiece from Pablo Picasso’s 1932 series depicting his muse Marie-Thérèse Walter as a reclining odalisque. The sale also features an extraordinary work by Rudolf Stingel’s progressive form of opulent abstraction, a result of the artist’s experimentation with collective participation, gesture and material qualities. “Untitled” is one of only 12 panels created by the acclaimed artist in this size. The sale also features outstanding works by Mark Bradford, Henri Matisse, Marlene Dumas, Georg Baselitz, Jean Dubuffet, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Yves Klein.
 
At the same auction last year, Phillips London realized a total sale of £14.7 million with 30 lots. This year, the auction is expected to realize a sale of between £51 million and £73 million and there are 50 works of 43 artists on offer.
